Operational Applications and Deployment Scenarios for ZKTeco ML100 Smart Lock

Commercial Offices and Executive Suites

The ZKTeco ML100 smart door lock provides secure, automated access control tailored for modern corporate facilities, executive offices, and internal departmental entryways. Operating on standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n), facility managers can supervise access permissions remotely using the ZSmart mobile application. The system supports up to 300 total users, accommodating distinct credential tiers with 10 administrator slots and 90 normal user slots for both capacitive fingerprint templates and anti-peep passcodes. This makes it ideal for managing staff permissions across standard interior wooden or composite doors with thicknesses ranging from 35 mm to 60 mm.

Multi-Tenant Residential and Apartment Complexes

Designed with a sleek black aluminum alloy housing and a European Standard 5050 mortise, the ML100 fits seamlessly into private residential doors and multi-family rental apartments. Property managers can leverage the ZSmart mobile app to dispatch time-sensitive passcodes to guests, service personnel, or short-term tenants without physical key handoffs. The lock maintains an audit trail of access events via Wi-Fi connectivity, while residents benefit from five flexible keyless authentication methods: capacitive fingerprint scanning, random anti-peeping PIN codes, contactless IC cards, smartphone app commands, and smartphone NFC mobile wallet emulation.

Shared Workspaces and Meeting Facilities

In co-working environments and shared corporate meeting rooms, access requirements shift frequently between regular members and visiting clients. The ML100 addresses high user turnover by supporting up to 100 IC cards alongside 100 digital passcodes and 100 fingerprint records. Administrators can swiftly assign or revoke credentials over the network. The built-in random passcode feature ensures that users entering PIN codes in crowded common areas do not expose their credentials to onlookers.

Server Closets and Secure Storage Enclosures

Protecting sensitive physical assets, document archives, and IT infrastructure rooms requires consistent access monitoring. The ML100 functions autonomously using 4 × AA alkaline batteries (they are not included), ensuring uninterrupted lock functionality during facility electrical outages. For critical utility access in industrial and commercial environments, the device operates stably in ambient temperatures from -25°C to 55°C and relative humidity levels up to 90% RH (non-condensing). In the event of battery exhaustion, technicians can supply immediate power via the integrated Micro-USB backup interface to gain verified access.
