Mechanical Mounting on Poles and Mast Arms

The KT Automation 300 mm 3-aspect LED traffic light signal head (SKU: KTI16029002TSSL) is designed for direct mechanical mounting onto standard traffic signal poles, cantilever supports, and overhead mast arms. Featuring an overall net weight of 1.9 kg and an unbreakable polycarbonate enclosure, the signal assembly facilitates rigid outdoor attachment without imposing excessive structural loads on junction infrastructure.

During physical installation, align the signal head so that the 300 mm transparent polycarbonate lenses for the Red, Yellow, and Green aspects face oncoming vehicular, cyclist, or pedestrian traffic. Ensuring precise line-of-sight orientation is critical for high-visibility management across urban road junctions, highway and expressway interchanges, and toll plaza lanes.

230V AC Controller and Electrical Wiring

Electrical integration requires connecting the signal head directly to a standard 230V AC mains supply or to the dedicated switching output terminals of an automated traffic light controller or sequence timer. Each discrete aspect (Red, Yellow, Green) operates at 230 V AC and is driven by an internal glass epoxy printed circuit board (PCB) fitted with superbright high-intensity traffic-grade LEDs.

  • Aspect Switching Lines: Connect the 230V AC active feeds from the respective traffic controller channels (Red, Yellow/Amber, and Green phases) to their designated terminals within the signal head.
  • Neutral and Ground: Terminate the common neutral line and ground safely to ensure steady, flicker-free LED operation across all three signaling aspects.
  • System Synchronization: Verify operational compatibility with centralized urban traffic control management systems, fixed-time sequence timers, or junction control cabinets prior to full energization.

IP65 Ingress Integrity and Weatherproofing

The signal head is IP65 certified, delivering robust protection against particulate contamination, heavy dust, and direct water jets. To ensure the enclosure maintains its ingress protection rating after field installation:

  • Ensure all cable entry conduits, fittings, and glands are tightened firmly against the polycarbonate body.
  • Verify that the internal glass epoxy PCB and superbright LED modules remain clean, dry, and protected from moisture while opening the housing for wiring.
  • Evenly fasten all enclosure latches to compress perimeter seals securely around the polycarbonate housing and transparent lenses.

Pre-Commissioning Checklist

Prior to activating active junction signaling on public roads, toll booths, or pedestrian crossings, execute the following pre-commissioning procedure:
