SOLT SM3-33PN Wall Mounting, Electrical Setup & System Configuration

Physical Mounting and Antenna Orientation

The SOLT SM3-33PN main display receiver is engineered as a wall-mounted central monitoring console with physical dimensions of 288 mm (W) x 133 mm (H) x 40 mm (D) and an overall weight of 650 g. The unit should be mounted to a structurally stable vertical surface in central monitoring environments such as hospital nursing stations, restaurant service dispatch areas, or factory floor supervisory hubs. Select an installation height that ensures direct line-of-sight visibility for operating personnel viewing the red 7-segment FND LED screen.

Prior to operational commissioning, thread the external dipole antenna into the designated RF terminal on the receiver housing. Position the antenna vertically to leverage the internal receiver's 360-degree omni-directional reception capabilities across the 433 MHz / 434 MHz frequency band. Avoid placing the receiver inside metal electrical cabinets, directly adjacent to heavy structural steelwork, or near high-power variable frequency drives (VFDs) that could attenuate FSK and GFSK radio frequencies.

Power Supply and Electrical Hookup

The receiver requires an external DC 12V, 1A power supply. Power the unit using the supplied external AC/DC converter adapter, which supports universal AC line input from 110V to 240V at 50/60 Hz. Connect the low-voltage barrel connector from the adapter securely into the 12V DC input receptacle on the receiver housing before energizing the AC main plug. Verify that the power cable is routed with adequate strain relief to prevent mechanical tension or accidental disconnection during routine operations.

Over-the-Air Device Registration and Bell ID Addressing

The SM3-33PN supports memory registration for up to 1,000 distinct wireless call transmitters across the SOLT SB lineup, including SB3, SB5, SB6, SB7, and SB9 call units. When enrolling paired transmitters that operate via coin cells or replaceable batteries (they are not included), ensure power is established in the transmitter before pairing.

  • By-Air Registration Mode: Place the SM3-33PN receiver into setup mode via the onboard system programming menu. Trigger the corresponding wireless call button; the receiver captures the unique RF transmission and binds it to the selected display address.
  • Consecutive Batch Programming: The internal firmware allows sequential ID numbering across contiguous button deployments, expediting setup across large hospital wards or assembly lines.
  • Alphanumeric Addressing: Display allocations can be assigned using numeric digits, English alphabetical letters, hyphens ('-', '_'), and blank characters across the 3-digit x 3-field layout.
  • Memory Management: Full register wipes ('Easy all bell ID deletion') can be executed through the system menu when reallocating displays to a different facility or layout.

Audio Alert and Operational Parameter Configuration

Configure operational alert behaviors through the receiver's digital programming interface to meet ambient noise conditions:

  • Melody Selection: Assign any of the 22 available internal chimes or melodies to differentiate calling tiers, specific zones, or call priorities.
  • Volume Level: Adjust the onboard speaker through 9 discrete digital sound output steps to achieve clear audibility without audio distortion.
  • Display Hold Duration: Set the active call retention interval, dictating the duration a confirmed caller ID remains illuminated across the three display windows.
  • Call Overlap and Repeat Cycles: Configure system cycling intervals for queued calls when more than three transmissions are simultaneously active, ensuring continuous rotational visibility across waiting calls.

Wireless Range Extension with Repeaters

For installations spanning multiple building levels, expansive healthcare wings, or segmented factory floors where structural barriers weaken signals, integrate SOLT RF signal repeaters (such as the SR5-BPR). Position repeaters between peripheral SB-series transmitters and the SM3-33PN display console to boost FSK/GFSK packet forwarding across extended operational footprints without modifying the receiver's stored ID tables.
