Installation and Deployment Guide

Surface Mounting and Enclosure Placement

The SOLT SB6-6PBK (SB66PBKWH) call transmitter features a compact form factor measuring 100 mm in length, 60 mm in width, and 16.5 mm in height, with a weight of 46 g. Surface installation is achieved using high-adhesion, industrial double-sided adhesive pads. Prior to fixing the panel to vertical walls, stainless steel kitchen expeditor passes, service desks, or workstation consoles, ensure that the target surface is degreased, dry, and free of dust. Firm, even pressure should be applied across the polymer enclosure to ensure full bonding.

The housing is splash- and dust-resistant with IP53 / IP54 rated perimeter sealing and chemical-resistant polymer construction, allowing mounting in demanding back-of-house hospitality prep lines, healthcare utility zones, and light industrial environments. Ensure the panel is mounted flat against the backing surface to prevent mechanical flexing during repeated button actuations.

Power Supply and Battery Installation

The call panel operates autonomously via internal DC power supplied by 2 lithium coin cell batteries (they are not included). Access the rear battery compartment before final adhesive affixing to insert the power cells. Ensure the two lithium coin cell batteries (they are not included) are seated according to the polarity markings indicated on the terminal contacts.

Operational battery life provides between 18 and 24 months of service (or over 50,000 actuations). Whenever field maintenance indicates a drop in RF range or dimming of the ultra-bright LED transmission indicator, both lithium coin cell batteries (they are not included) must be removed and replaced at the same time to ensure correct operating voltage.

Handset and Cable Interface Connection

The SB6-6PBK supports peripheral handset connectivity to extend accessibility beyond the fixed panel face. Where wired extension is required, connect an optional straight or spiral hand unit cable to the panel's external interface. The system supports full interoperability with 1 PSR, 2 PSR, and 3 PSR handsets for patient bed-head calling or extended counter reach. Verify that hand unit cable strain relief is secured away from high-traffic snag points.

RF Range Planning and Repeater Integration

The device transmits on 433 MHz / 434 MHz utilizing digital FSK / GFSK modulation with an RF output power rating of up to 10 mW. An integrated internal PCB spiral antenna provides a 360-degree omnidirectional transmission pattern. In unobstructed conditions, transmission coverage spans 100 to 150 meters in line of sight, and up to 200 meters in open spaces.

Commercial kitchens and industrial production floors frequently feature heavy stainless steel counters, ducting, walk-in cold rooms, or reinforced concrete structural walls that attenuate radio frequency propagation. To overcome physical RF attenuation in large multi-zone facilities, integrate SOLT SR5-BPR RF signal repeaters intermediate to the transmitter and receiving hardware to ensure complete RF coverage.

Receiver Pairing and Commissioning Verification

Each of the 6 push buttons on the SB6-6PBK operates as an independently assignable digital address channel. Complete setup by pairing the button channels into the intended system receivers according to site workflow requirements:

  • Display Receivers: Register button IDs to trigger designated multi-digit numbers or alphanumeric status messages on SOLT SM3 series multi-digit wireless LED display receiver panels.
  • Mobile Wrist Pagers: Assign specific buttons to alert individual staff members wearing SOLT SP-series wrist watch pagers (such as SP7 and SP9 models).
  • Indicator Lights: Link call channels to trigger SOLT SL5 or SL6 wireless corridor and door lights for visual over-door zoning.
  • PC Central Monitoring: Route calls through the SOLT SR5-MPR wireless PC interface module for centralized call logging and service tracking software integration.

After pairing, verify signal dispatch by depressing each button across its actuation travel. A successful RF packet broadcast is immediately verified by the illumination of the ultra-bright LED indicator located on the front face of the unit.
