Substrate Preparation and Alignment
Prior to mounting the dock bumper, verify the mounting surface meets structural requirements to ensure solid load transfer during vehicle impact:
- Concrete Dock Surfaces: Inspect the concrete face for structural soundness. Clear away surface dirt, oil, and loose debris to provide a flat, stable contact area for the 450 mm x 240 mm rear base of the bumper.
- Structural Steel Frames: Ensure steel dock plates, curbing angles, or channel frames are securely anchored and free from severe warping or obstructions.
- Elevation Planning: Align the bumper height to correspond with the primary contact zones of standard commercial freight trucks, trailers, and flatbeds servicing the receiving bay.
Mechanical Fastening Procedure
Secure attachment of the solid vulcanised rubber bumper requires heavy-duty anchor bolts or mechanical fasteners through the integrated mounting points:
