FAQ

What housing construction and operational mode are engineered into the PEL LED NM (1200) - 40W luminaire?

Answer:
The enclosure is fabricated from 22 SWG MS CRCA sheet metal finished with a white epoxy polyester powder coating and an opal acrylic diffuser. It operates in Non-Maintained (NM) mode, automatically switching ON during mains outages and reverting to automatic low-voltage cut-off and trickle charging once power is restored.

The mechanical and functional architecture of the PEL LED NM (1200) - 40W is designed for demanding industrial, commercial, and utility environments:

  • Housing Construction: Fabricated from durable 22 SWG MS CRCA (Cold Rolled Close Annealed) mild steel sheet to provide rigid enclosure strength.
  • Surface Finish: Coated with an electrostatically applied epoxy polyester powder coat in white for corrosion resistance.
  • Optical Cover: Fitted with a high-transmittance opal acrylic diffuser that softens high-output LED glare and delivers uniform downward illumination.
  • Non-Maintained (NM) Operation: The luminaire stays unlit under normal mains power while the internal charger keeps the energy cell primed. Upon utility power interruption, it triggers emergency lighting automatically.
  • Battery Protection: Following complete discharge across the 120-minute cycle, an automatic low-voltage cut-off circuit disconnects the load to protect the SLA rechargeable battery (they are not included). Once utility mains resume, the system initiates a rapid 10–12 hour recharge before sliding into continuous trickle charge mode.
