How does the Non-Maintained (NM) operational mode and charging system work in the Prolite PEL LED 120 NM?

Answer:
In Non-Maintained (NM) mode, the luminaire stays unlit during active mains power and automatically switches on only during mains failure to deliver 180 minutes of illumination via battery (they are not included) power. After discharge, an automatic low-voltage cut-off protects the battery (they are not included), and upon power restoration, the constant voltage charger recharges the unit before sliding automatically into trickle charge mode.

The Prolite PEL LED 120 NM operates strictly as a Non-Maintained (NM) emergency lighting fixture. Under standard operating conditions with healthy mains power (~230V AC), the primary LED array remains dormant while the internal constant voltage charger maintains full charge on the internal SLA rechargeable battery (they are not included). An integrated red LED indicator illuminates to signify active charging status.

Upon AC mains supply interruption, the internal solid-state transfer circuit instantaneously triggers the 10W LED bank to provide up to 180 minutes (±10%) of emergency backup illumination. To preserve battery (they are not included) health and service life, an integrated automatic cut-off disconnects the load at the end of the rated discharge period, mitigating deep-discharge degradation. When AC mains voltage is restored, the circuit automatically resumes high-efficiency constant voltage charging (10–12 hours for a full cycle) before automatically sliding into continuous trickle charge mode to maintain peak readiness.
