Pelican 8060 System Interoperability and Power Compatibility

Dual-Fuel Power Source and Chemical Cell Compatibility

The Pelican 8060 Tactical LED Flashlight features a dual-fuel internal electrical architecture rated for an operating voltage of 4.8 V DC. The torch is engineered to accept two distinct power cell configurations depending on site readiness and operational requirements. Primary daily operations rely on a proprietary rechargeable stick, specifically the Pelican 8069 replacement NiMH battery pack (they are not included). For off-grid contingencies, extended patrol shifts, or remote industrial operations where dock recharging is inaccessible, the barrel is designed to house 4 C-cell alkaline batteries (they are not included).

When utilizing 4 C-cell alkaline batteries (they are not included), the flashlight functions with altered lumen output and duration profiles compared to the rechargeable NiMH cells (they are not included). Polarity configuration requires loading the battery cells (they are not included) into the Xenoy barrel tail with the positive terminal directed forward toward the front aluminum shroud and LED module.

Charging System and Power Input Interoperability

Recharging the Pelican 8060 is governed by a dedicated snap-in desk/dash charging base. The charging cradle facilitates mechanical retention and electrical connectivity via surface-mounted contact pins that interface with the dual external metal contact bands molded around the flashlight body. The charging infrastructure supports two distinct facility and vehicular utility inputs:

  • Mains AC Input: Direct compatibility with standard Pelican 110V AC wall transformers and 220V AC wall power adapters for facility security stations, maintenance shops, and dispatch desks.
  • In-Cabin DC Input: Compatible with optional Pelican 12V DC vehicle in-cabin charging cables for mobile security fleets, emergency response trucks, and tactical command vehicles.
  • Charge Duration: The standard fast-charge cradle configuration delivers a full replenishment cycle to a depleted NiMH battery pack (they are not included) in approximately 4.5 to 5 hours.

Vehicular and Facility Dock Installation Compatibility

The desk/dash charger cradle is engineered with integrated screw-mounting hardpoints on the base plate. This mounting layout permits secure, rigid fastening onto flat administrative desks, tactical staging lockers, equipment panels, or vehicle center consoles and dashboards. When inserting the flashlight into the charger bracket, the barrel-mounted momentary push button switch must face outward/forward to ensure direct mechanical seating into the locking arms and continuous galvanic contact across the charging bands.

Optical Traffic Wand and Field Accessory Interoperability

For facility perimeter control, emergency logistics, and industrial gate operations, the front aluminum shroud is dimensionally compatible with specialized slip-on Pelican traffic safety wands. The high-impact polycarbonate (PC) optical lens system projects a balanced beam profile (reaching up to 376 meters on High mode) that evenly illuminates through colored diffusers without warping or thermal interference.
