Ahuja ASX-612BT Wall Mounting, Wiring, and Power Tap Configuration Guide

Wall-Mounting Bracket Installation

The Ahuja ASX-612BT 2-way compact PA wall speaker comes supplied with a dedicated 'U' type mounting bracket designed for secure surface attachment to flat walls, pillars, and vertical architectural structures. When planning the physical mounting layout, installers must account for the speaker unit dimensions of 215 mm (W) × 310 mm (H) × 175 mm (D) and its net weight of 3.80 kg. Ensure that the structural substrate and wall anchors are capable of supporting the combined static load of the black plastic housing and bracket assembly.

Position the 'U' type bracket at the required height for optimal sound dispersion, aligning the acoustic axis toward the intended listening zone. Once the mounting bracket is firmly fastened to the wall surface using appropriate heavy-duty hardware, attach the speaker enclosure to the bracket arms and secure the mounting hardware to lock the assembly in place.

Rear Rotary Switch Power Tap Selection

The ASX-612BT features a multi-tap line matching transformer configured via a slotted rotary switch knob located on the rear panel. System integrators can adjust the wattage draw on a standard 100V distributed audio line or switch the unit to low-impedance mode for direct amplification:

  • 100V Line High-Impedance Taps: Selectable at 60W, 40W, 30W, 20W, or 10W to balance sound pressure levels across commercial zones.
  • Direct Low-Impedance Setting: 8-ohm (8Ω) operation mode for direct connection to low-impedance power amplifiers rated for 60W RMS (90W Max).

Use a flat-blade screwdriver to rotate the rear slotted knob to the exact power setting calculated during audio design. To prevent transformer saturation and amplifier overload, ensure the total combined wattage of all connected 100V wall speakers does not exceed the amplifier's maximum rated output power.

Electrical Connections and System Integration

When routing signal lines to the ASX-612BT, maintain correct polarity throughout the line to ensure cohesive acoustic summing across multiple speakers. The internal 2-way passive crossover network automatically routes low-to-mid frequencies to the 163 mm (6.5-inch) water-resistant polypropylene (PP) coated cone woofer and high frequencies to the 25 mm (1-inch) titanium dome tweeter, delivering a broad frequency response of 50 Hz to 20,000 Hz.
