System Compatibility and Structural Anchorage Interfaces

The KARAM MAGNA 1 full body harness and PN351N 2.0-meter forked energy-absorbing lanyard form an integrated personal fall arrest system (PFAS). When deploying this equipment across work-at-height infrastructures, safety managers must ensure that all connecting hardware, harness connection points, structural anchorages, and personal relief accessories conform strictly to certified dimensions, loading thresholds, and mechanical ratings.

Lanyard-to-Harness Connection Points

The user attachment end of the PN351N lanyard features an alloy steel PN112 screw-locking karabiner. This connector is engineered for direct mechanical coupling with the certified fall arrest attachment points on the MAGNA 1 harness:

  • Dorsal Fall Arrest Attachment: Connects directly into the harness dorsal lightweight forged aluminum D-ring. The ergonomic bend design of this D-ring facilitates positive engagement and free positioning of the PN112 karabiner gate without binding against the back webbing.
  • Sternal Fall Arrest Attachment: Couples directly through the two front textile loops. When utilizing the chest fall arrest location, the PN112 connector must pass simultaneously through both front textile loops to equalize deployment loads across the harness chest assembly.
  • Non-Structural Lanyard Keepers: When one leg of the twin-leg lanyard is detached during movement, it must only be parked on the dedicated dual lanyard keepers mounted on the shoulder straps. It must never be attached back to the dorsal D-ring, sternal loops, or load-bearing webbing, ensuring that the tear-webbing energy absorber PN300 is not bypassed during an arrest event.

Structural Anchorage Interfaces and Scaffold Hooks

The termination ends of the twin-leg PN351N lanyard are fitted with two forged alloy steel PN131N scaffold hooks. These captive self-closing and self-locking connectors are dimensioned for fast anchoring during continuous 100% tie-off transfers:

  • Scaffold Tubing and Piping: Sized specifically to snap directly over standard steel scaffolding tubes and tubular ledgers without requiring supplementary tie-off adapters or intermediate slings.
  • Structural Steel Profiles: Attaches securely onto compatible steel angles, flange edges, and structural steel beams capable of supporting fall arrest shock loads.
  • EN 795 Certified Anchor Devices: Fully compatible with rigid and flexible anchorage lifelines, structural anchor posts, and permanent tie-off eyebolts rated to EN 795 standards.

Connector Compatibility and Hardware Ratings

The hardware components of this combo kit meet standardized mechanical interface ratings, ensuring seamless interoperability within industrial fall arrest setups:

Suspension Relief Accessories

The MAGNA 1 harness includes dedicated attachment provisions for suspension trauma mitigation. The harness is fully compatible with KARAM STS 01(N) suspension intolerance relief straps. These auxiliary straps attach directly to the harness side webbing interfaces using dedicated textile loop and hook-and-loop fixtures, enabling suspended personnel to stand in deployable foot loops and relieve venous blood pooling following an arrested fall.
