Mechanical Mounting and Bracket Positioning

The Ahuja UHC-30XT horn speaker is supplied with a heavy-duty metal mounting bracket designed for secure attachment to walls, structural columns, steel posts, and perimeter framing in industrial environments. The mounting assembly incorporates corrosion-resistant stainless steel external hardware that withstands prolonged outdoor exposure. The integrated bracket permits a 270-degree rotation radius, enabling site engineers to orient the ø313 mm bell flare directly toward target acoustic zones across warehouses, processing yards, or manufacturing facilities.

When planning physical installation, structural supports must be evaluated to accommodate the horn assembly weight of 3.12 kg along with potential dynamic wind loads. Ensure that the bracket mounting bolts are securely torqued against the mounting surface prior to setting the final acoustic tilt and azimuth angles.

100V Distributed Line Wiring

The UHC-30XT is engineered specifically for high-voltage 100V distributed public address networks, allowing extensive cable runs across plant facilities without significant signal attenuation. Electrical termination is achieved via the pre-wired 0.6 m (2 ft) 2-core sheathed speaker cable extending from the rear housing through a factory-installed, water-tight, and tug-proof cable gland.

For permanent field integration, connect the factory cable leads to the incoming 100V distribution line using an external IP-rated junction enclosure. Multiple horn units must be connected strictly in parallel across the constant-voltage line. Do not connect this 100V transformer-equipped unit to low-impedance 4Ω or 8Ω amplifier output terminals, as direct low-impedance matching will cause severe signal attenuation, transformer core saturation, and improper power loading.

Rear Rotary Switch Power Tap Selection

System integrators can balance acoustic sound pressure levels against total amplifier capacity by selecting the appropriate power tap via the sealed rotary switch located on the rear cover. Power tap adjustment does not require disassembling the UV-protected ABS enclosure, preserving the integrity of internal components, including the aluminium bobbin-wound voice coil.

Environmental Integrity and Commissioning

To preserve the IP66 dust-tight and high-pressure water jet ingress protection rating during commissioning, observe the following setup criteria:

  • Ensure the rear selector switch is fully seated into its detent position to maintain the weather-proof seal.
  • Avoid modifying, enlarging, or pulling on the sealed cable gland assembly to prevent moisture ingress into the driver chamber.
  • Calculate the cumulative wattage of all parallel-connected horns (ranging from 5W to 30W per unit) to ensure the total line load remains within the rated power output of the driving 100V amplifier.
  • Verify that overall installation practices comply with EN 60065 Low Voltage Directive standards.
