What is the function of the Box Speaker / Driver Unit selector switch on the HSSA-300BT?

Answer:
The switch defeats the amplifier's internal bass boost when set to Driver Unit mode. This cuts destructive low-frequency energy to prevent horn driver diaphragm burnout during high-output paging.

A critical engineering feature of the Hitune HSSA-300BT is the dedicated Box Speaker / Driver Unit selector switch located on the chassis:

  • Box Speaker Mode: Delivers the full low-frequency spectrum, enabling bass boost adjustments suitable for wide-range cabinet speakers and indoor public address.
  • Driver Unit Mode: Automatically attenuates low bass frequencies. Reflex horn driver units have limited cone displacement and cannot reproduce deep bass signals without mechanical stress. Defeating the bass boost protects horn diaphragms from mechanical tearing and thermal burnout during high-volume speech and siren broadcasts.

The unit also incorporates a push-to-reset circuit breaker on the chassis to safeguard output stages against load short circuits and thermal overload without requiring glass fuse replacements.
