Installation and Commissioning Guide for Hikvision DS-PD1-MC-WWS

Pre-Installation Site Assessment and Alignment Requirements

The Hikvision DS-PD1-MC-WWS (KT reference KTI08003001DHS4) wireless magnetic contact is engineered for perimeter protection across commercial and industrial facilities, including factories, server rooms, bank branches, hospitals, and high-security zones. Prior to permanent surface attachment, survey the structural frame of the door or window to ensure compatibility with operating parameters. The functional operating environment requires ambient temperatures between -10 °C and +55 °C with a relative humidity level ranging from 10% to 90% non-condensing, conforming to EN 50131 Environmental Class II (EC II) standards.

For reliable intrusion detection, maintain an installation gap distance between 25 mm and 30 mm between the sensor housing and the corresponding magnetic unit. The detector incorporates an internal dual reed switch design, which permits versatile positioning on either the left or right side of window sashes and door leaves without degrading activation accuracy.

Surface Mounting and Tamper Deployment

The main sensor body features a compact form factor measuring 84 mm (L) x 25 mm (W) x 21 mm (H) with a total mass of approximately 37 g. Physical deployment requires secure attachment to both the fixed frame and moving section of the access opening:

  • Ensure the mounting surface is flat and vibration-free to maintain the required 25 mm to 30 mm contact gap during routine mechanical closures.
  • Position the main unit flush against the mounting structure to fully engage the rear cover tamper switch.
  • Fasten the front shell securely to ensure activation of the front shell tamper mechanism. The dual tamper switches alert the security system immediately if the housing is prised open or detached from the surface.

Power Interface and Panel Enrollment Procedure

The detector requires a 3.0V CR123A battery (they are not included) to operate, delivering an operational service life of up to 2 years under standard conditions. Device registration and hardware reset are executed using the onboard learn button:

  • Open the front shell to access the battery compartment and the learn button.
  • Press and hold down the learn button of the detector, then insert the 3.0V battery (they are not included).
  • Maintain pressure on the learn button for approximately 5 seconds, then release.
  • Observe the tri-color LED indicator; a simultaneous red and green light flash verifies successful hardware reset and readiness for system enrollment.
  • Monitor the tri-color LED indicator during commissioning to verify communication state, registration acknowledgment, and live opening/closing alarm triggers.

Wireless Link Verification and System Commissioning

The DS-PD1-MC-WWS operates via two-way wireless communication at 433 MHz, offering a transmission coverage range of up to 800 m in open area environments. Transmissions utilize AES-128 encryption and an integrated mechanism to prevent wireless data conflicts and signal collisions. The sensor integrates with Hikvision 433 MHz security control panels, including the AX Series and Axiom Hub (such as DS-PWA32 series panels).

After physical mounting and electronic registration, execute a walking/opening verification test. Open and close the protected door or window to confirm that the reed switch registers contact state transitions, the tri-color LED signals status, and the 433 MHz control panel receives encrypted intrusion and tamper signals without packet loss.
