eSSL FB-TL-119 Flap Barrier Installation and Integration Guide

Site Preparation and Pedestal Footprint

The eSSL FB-TL-119 single-lane flap barrier turnstile requires a structurally sound, level finished floor for pedestal anchoring. Each cabinet unit measures 800 mm in length, 280 mm in width, and 960 mm in height (excluding bars), with a net unit weight of 40 kg. Floor bolting points must be laid out to maintain structural stability under continuous pedestrian flow rated up to 35 persons per minute.

For standard single-lane installations, pair the designated Left and Right pedestal units (FB-TL-119-L/R) facing inward to establish the pedestrian walkway. The pedestal spacing can be configured to provide a clear passage width of up to 900 mm, accommodating standard pedestrian transit, wheelchair access, luggage trolleys, and material handling carts. For multi-lane entry checkpoints, intermediate pedestals can be aligned continuously while maintaining proper inter-unit conduit pathways.

Electrical Service and Power Feed Routing

Conduits for AC mains power and low-voltage control cabling should be routed up through the floor cutouts within the 800 mm x 280 mm cabinet footprint prior to bolting down the housing. The internal power supply operates across an input range of 100V to 240V AC at 50 Hz to 60 Hz line frequency. The system converts incoming AC power to run an internal 24V DC electro-magnetic drive mechanism, drawing a maximum power consumption of 30W.

To ensure life safety compliance during building power failures, the FB-TL-119 supports an emergency auto-open mechanism where the toughened plastic glass flaps automatically retract into the SUS304 stainless steel cabinet. Facilities requiring continuous operation can integrate the barrier with an external UPS backup power supply and manual emergency exit buttons.

Access Control and Sensor Integration

The FB-TL-119 barrier controller integrates directly with third-party access control panels, eSSL fingerprint biometric terminals, and RFID readers (supporting IC cards, ID cards, barcodes, and magnetic credentials). Controller integration relies on standard dry-contact inputs for gate opening, closing, and priority fire alarm release signals.

  • Biometric & RFID Readers: Mount credential verification hardware at designated reader zones on the SUS304 stainless steel top cover, connecting reader outputs directly to the barrier signal trigger boards.
  • Emergency Fire Alarm Release: Wire dry-contact fire alarm outputs to the barrier controller emergency terminal. When energized or tripped, the barrier opens the flaps immediately to allow unhindered egress.
  • Status Indicators: Verify that the integrated voice prompt synthesis system and directional strobe lights are clear of obstruction to provide clear visual and audible transit status to pedestrians.

Optical Alignment and System Calibration

Accurate alignment of the internal infrared photocells is critical for system safety and anti-tailgating enforcement. The barrier uses a combination of infrared photocell anti-clipping and mechanical anti-clipping to prevent the wings from closing while a user or object remains within the
