Installation Guidelines for Dolphy DAHD0062 High Speed Hand Dryer

Proper installation of the Dolphy DAHD0062 high-speed hand dryer ensures reliable touch-free operation, optimal user ergonomics, and safety across commercial and institutional washroom environments. Designed strictly for wall-mounted installation, the unit features a compact footprint measuring 174 mm in width, 102 mm in depth, and 256 mm in height, with a lightweight construction of 2 kg that simplifies wall anchoring across various building substrates.

Pre-Installation Site Evaluation

Before mounting the DAHD0062, facility engineers and MEP contractors must assess the selected installation zone for structural support and environmental conditions. The casing is engineered from high-grade ABS plastic with a clean white finish and carries an IP23 ingress protection rating. In compliance with IP23 standards, the housing provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and spraying water up to 60 degrees from vertical. Do not position the unit where it will be directly subjected to horizontal water jets or continuous deluge during heavy washdown routines.

Because the unit employs automated touch-free infrared activation, select an unobstructed vertical wall space clear of direct reflective mirrors, continuous optical glare, or counter fixtures directly underneath that could cause unintentional sensor triggering.

Mounting Height Specifications

To accommodate diverse demographic requirements across corporate offices, worship places, shopping malls, hospitals, clinics, and educational cafeterias, adhere to the manufacturer-specified floor-to-unit installation clearances. Mounting heights are measured from the finished floor level (FFL) to the base of the dryer:

  • Standard Adult / Men: 1000 mm from finished floor level.
  • Standard Adult / Women: 960 mm from finished floor level.
  • Children and Teenagers: 910 mm from finished floor level.
  • Accessible / Primary School Installations: 860 mm from finished floor level.

Electrical Supply and Routing Requirements

The Dolphy DAHD0062 is equipped with an internal 700 W heating element and a 30,000 RPM brush motor generating an airflow velocity of 92 m/s. Safe electrical integration requires strict adherence to the rated operating specifications:

ParameterSpecification
Input VoltageAC 220–230 V
Operating Frequency60 Hz
Continuous Current Draw3 A
Rated Power Consumption700 W (Hot & Cold airflow)
Enclosure Protection ClassIP23

All electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical regulations. Connect the unit to a dedicated single-phase branch circuit capable of sustaining a continuous 3 A load at AC 220–230 V, 60 Hz. Ensure proper electrical isolation via a dedicated circuit breaker or switched fused spur accessible during washroom maintenance.

Commissioning and Verification

After securely fixing the 2 kg unit to the wall surface and verifying all electrical terminations, restore power to test system behavior. Place hands directly beneath the air outlet to confirm that the touch-free infrared sensor triggers immediate airflow. Verify that the 30,000 RPM brush motor spins up without unusual vibration, producing high-velocity airflow rated at 92 m/s and nominal operational sound levels within 70 dB. Test the integrated 60-second automatic cut-off timer by maintaining a static hand position beneath the sensor until airflow stops automatically, confirming baseline safety against sensor blockage.
