Dolphy DAHD0049 Wall Mounting and Electrical Installation Guide

Pre-Installation Planning and Spatial Clearances

The Dolphy DAHD0049 compact hand dryer is engineered for wall-mounted positioning in commercial and institutional washroom environments, including offices, restaurants, hotels, and retail complexes. The unit features compact exterior dimensions of 175 mm (Length) × 150 mm (Width) × 260 mm (Height) encased in a brushed 304 grade stainless steel housing. When surveying the mounting location, installation engineers must verify that the supporting wall or partition provides adequate structural rigidity to anchor the assembly securely.

The chassis design supports direct flat wall installation as well as corner mounting configurations. To ensure unhindered operation of the touch-free optical system, maintain unobstructed vertical clearance below the base of the dryer. The integrated infrared sensor is factory-calibrated for an activation zone of 7 cm to 20 cm directly beneath the air outlet. Avoid locating high-reflectivity fixtures, polished chrome surfaces, or wash counters directly within this 7 to 20 cm detection envelope to prevent erratic optical triggering.

Electrical Service and Wiring Integration

Electrical rough-in must correspond to the device electrical ratings before mounting the backplate. The Dolphy DAHD0049 operates on a standard single-phase AC 220V–240V utility feed at 50Hz/60Hz. Because the unit accommodates an internal nichrome open coil heater alongside its high-velocity brushed AC series commutator motor, the total connected power draw ranges from 800 W (unheated operation) up to 1350 W (full heating cycle). Ensure that dedicated branch circuit wiring and protection breakers are sized to handle a continuous load of at least 1350 W.

The DAHD0049 accommodates two electrical entry methods depending on the facility aesthetic and site requirements: direct hardwired conduit entry for tamper-resistant commercial installations, or a standard mains plug-in routing. For hardwired setups, feed the cabling through the designated knockouts on the backplate, ensuring all connections are properly grounded and insulated. Note that the unit carries an IP23 ingress protection rating; while protected against falling water sprays up to 60 degrees from vertical, it should not be mounted where direct, high-pressure hose-down washdowns occur.

Mounting Sequence and Mechanical Fastening

  • Template Alignment: Position the unit or mounting bracket against the wall at the required operational height. Level the unit precisely before marking the anchoring holes.
  • Wall Anchoring: Drill pilot holes suited to the substrate (masonry, concrete, or reinforced wall studs) and insert appropriate heavy-duty wall anchors. Secure the baseplate firmly against the wall surface.
  • Electrical Termination: Terminate the live, neutral, and earth conductors into the terminal block or connect the mains plug into a certified socket outlet.
  • Casing Assembly: Position the 304 grade stainless steel cover over the interior chassis, ensuring internal air ducts and wire looms remain unpinched, and fasten all enclosure retaining screws securely.

Commissioning, Acoustic Tuning, and Operational Testing

Once mechanical installation and electrical connections are complete, restore line power to the 220V–240V circuit. Place hands beneath the air nozzle within the 7 to 20 cm sensor detection envelope to activate the brushed AC series commutator motor. The unit should accelerate up to its rated 25,000 RPM operating speed, delivering an airflow velocity of up to 95 m/s. Check the warmth generated by the nichrome open coil heater across the typical 12 to 15 second drying cycle.

If acoustic adjustments are required for low-noise corporate or hospitality environments, access the internal air and noise control adjustment mechanism to calibrate sound pressure levels within the 45 to 50 dB(A) range. Finally, verify the integrated safety shut-off mechanism by sustaining continuous obstruction in the optical sensor path; the auto cut-off timer must automatically terminate motor and heater operation between 30 and 60 seconds.
