System Integration and Compatibility Specifications

The Biomax N-WL20 (NWL20) standalone biometric time and attendance terminal is engineered to integrate across enterprise software ecosystems, local wireless networks, and existing IT infrastructure without requiring dedicated structured cabling.

Network and Wireless Connectivity Compatibility

The N-WL20 eliminates the requirement for physical structured LAN cabling by utilizing integrated Wi-Fi communication. The hardware connects directly to local area infrastructure through standard office wireless routers or temporary mobile Wi-Fi hotspots, establishing reliable wireless links for workforce data transmission.

For deployment environments without active wireless network coverage, or in the event of local access point disruptions, the N-WL20 features an integrated USB host interface. Administrators can perform offline, manual data log retrieval and credential synchronization using standard USB flash storage drives, ensuring transaction continuity across facilities with restricted or intermittent IT networks.

Attendance Management and Enterprise Software Platforms

Biomax provides multi-tier software architecture compatibility designed to scale with diverse administrative workflows. The N-WL20 interfaces with the following platform tiers:

  • Biomax Desktop Software: Localized on-premise attendance processing and device management for standalone administrative workstations.
  • Web-Based Platforms: Centralized browser-accessible architectures enabling multi-branch data aggregation over intranet or internet routes.
  • Cloud Management Solutions: Distributed cloud-hosted infrastructure for remote administrative monitoring and multi-location record synchronization.
  • Mobile Employee Self Service (ESS) Applications: Connected workforce interfaces allowing field and corporate personnel to review attendance records directly via mobile applications.
  • Self-Service Recorder (SSR): Optional on-device automated reporting functionality that compiles shift and time data into standard report formats directly at the terminal.

Developer SDK and Third-Party Payroll Integration

To support corporate IT infrastructures running proprietary human resource management systems (HRMS), ERP platforms, or enterprise payroll engines, Biomax supplies a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK). System integrators can leverage the SDK to read user records, pull transactional punch logs (supporting up to 150,000 logged records), and sync authentication credentials between custom backend databases and the terminal's embedded Linux operating system.

Credential and Sensor Surface Compatibility

The N-WL20 supports dual credential authentication methods, accommodating up to 1,000 users with a capacity for 1,000 fingerprint templates and 1,000 PIN passwords. The integrated 500 DPI optical sensor is engineered to verify diverse skin conditions with high fidelity (FAR: 0.00001%, FRR: 0.001% in ≤1 second), maintaining operational verification across:

  • Dry, cracked, or weather-exposed fingertips
  • Moist or sweaty skin surfaces
  • Rough, abraded, or textured fingers
  • Fingertips with colored stains or cosmetic mehndi applications

Electrical and Environmental Compatibility

The unit requires an external regulated power source rated at 5V DC, 1A. It operates reliably within ambient temperature conditions ranging from 0°C to 50°C, making it compatible with commercial indoor environments, educational institutes, retail sites, and corporate office spaces.
