Hardware, Network, and System Compatibility

The Biomax N-X90 GPRS standalone biometric terminal provides broad compatibility across electromechanical locking hardware, radio-frequency credentials, network communications, and enterprise management platforms. Operating on an embedded Linux system, the terminal functions seamlessly within integrated security architectures and time-and-attendance infrastructures.

Access Control Hardware and Peripheral Interoperability

The unit features an integrated output relay designed to actuate standard door-locking mechanisms without requiring intermediary interface boards. Terminal connection compatibility includes:

  • Electronic Locking Systems: Directly signals and releases electric strikes, electromagnetic locks, and motorized or solenoid drop bolts via onboard relay contacts.
  • Egress Request Hardware: Equipped with input ports compatible with conventional push buttons, standard exit switches, wireless remote release units, and infrared no-touch exit sensors.

Credential Support and Biometric Verification

The terminal handles multi-credential authentication schemes, accommodating up to 2,000 registered users with flexible verification modes:

  • Proximity RF Cards: Integrated standard support for 125 kHz EM proximity RFID cards and fobs (up to 2,000 card capacity).
  • Smart Cards: Available with factory-configured support for 13.56 MHz Mifare contactless smart cards to integrate with existing high-frequency identification systems.
  • Biometric Template Matching: Equipped with a 500 DPI optical sensor with a template capacity of 2,000 fingerprints. The matching algorithm is engineered to register and process dry, moist, rough, and stained (mehndi or colored) fingers with a verification time of less than or equal to 1 second (FAR: 0.00001%, FRR: 0.001%).
  • PIN Entry: Supports up to 2,000 numerical passwords via the integrated keypad for standalone PIN access or multi-factor authentication.

Communication and Network Interfaces

Engineered for distributed, multi-location, or remote operations, the device supports three core connectivity standards:

  • 2G GPRS Cellular: Cellular data capability allows automated record synchronization over GPRS networks, eliminating the requirement for local on-site network drops or Wi-Fi coverage at remote installations.
  • TCP/IP Ethernet: Built-in RJ45 network interface supports direct LAN and WAN deployment within corporate IT networks.
  • Push Data Protocol: Native Push Data architecture enables the device to send real-time punch transactions directly to centralized, cloud, or web-hosted servers through firewalls.
  • USB Host Interface: A dedicated USB port enables manual transaction log retrieval and user database management using standard USB flash drives in offline or air-gapped environments.

Software Ecosystem and Integration Compatibility

The N-X90 GPRS interfaces with multiple layers of enterprise attendance and access control platforms:

  • Biomax Platforms: Fully compatible with Biomax Desktop, Web, and Cloud attendance management software suites for centralized scheduling, multi-shift monitoring, and real-time attendance logging.
  • Enterprise Integration: Supported by a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK) to facilitate direct API integration with third-party HRMS, payroll, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
  • Data Logging Buffer: Stores up to 150,000 event records in non-volatile internal memory, preserving all transaction logs during network outages until communication with the host software is restored.

Power and Electrical Specifications

The terminal requires a 12V DC, 2A power input, matching standard regulated access control power supplies. For uninterrupted operation during electrical line drops, the device incorporates an inbuilt rechargeable backup power system.
