Installation and Integration Guidelines for Biomax N-UltraFace

Physical Mounting and Spatial Positioning

The Biomax N-UltraFace biometric terminal features a physical housing footprint measuring 225 mm (L) x 120 mm (H) x 100 mm (W) with a shipping weight of 1.2 kg. The hardware supports dual deployment configurations: it can be installed on a tabletop surface or secured directly to a vertical surface as a wall-mounted unit. For standard wall-mount installations, the recommended mounting height from the finished floor to the device base is up to 44 inches maximum. This elevation aligns the optical trajectory of the onboard auto-focus camera with the user approach angle.

The terminal's optical sensor architecture supports an effective long-distance facial capture and verification range between 2 to 4 feet (approximately 1 meter). Engineered with high dynamic sensitivity up to 100,000 LUX alongside zero-light infrared verification, the N-UltraFace can be deployed in open access areas, corridors, security gates, educational institutions, and airport transit checkpoints where variable sunlight, ambient glare, or reflective light occurs. Operating environmental parameters require installation in locations maintaining ambient temperatures between 0°C and 50°C.

Power Supply and Electrical Wiring Requirements

The Biomax N-UltraFace operates from an external regulated power source supplying 12V DC at a minimum rating of 2A. System integrators must ensure a dedicated, stable direct-current feed is routed to the terminal's power terminals. Please note that this specific hardware SKU (KTI01002003NUFS) is factory-configured without internal backup batteries (they are not included), requiring direct, continuous external power infrastructure to maintain operating uptime.

Access Control Peripheral and Locking Circuit Interfacing

The unit features dedicated access control termination blocks for integrated door control automation. An onboard output relay provides contact signaling to switch electronic strikes, electromagnetic locks, or automatic gate operators upon successful biometric verification. For peripheral integration and dual-direction verification, the unit includes integrated Wiegand In and Wiegand Out ports.

  • Door Actuation: Direct onboard output relay for electronic door locks.
  • Third-Party Panels: Wiegand Out communication enables the reader to transmit processed credential data directly to master access controllers.
  • External Reader Input: Wiegand In interface accepts inputs from auxiliary credential readers.
  • Egress Control Options: Terminal interface lines accept connections from standard exit push buttons, no-touch infrared sensors, remote control triggers, and secondary Wiegand exit readers.

Network Setup, Standalone Deployment, and System Commissioning

Network infrastructure connectivity is provided via an integrated RJ45 TCP/IP Ethernet port as well as onboard Wi-Fi. The device features integrated Push Data technology, enabling automated real-time transaction logging to centralized software platforms across Desktop, Web, and Cloud attendance systems, alongside mobile application synchronization. For facilities without local network connectivity, transaction logs can be exported directly through the integrated USB host port using a flash drive. Optional add-on hardware configurations also support 4G GPRS and GPS connectivity.

For standalone environments lacking direct PC or server infrastructure, administrative commissioning can be executed entirely on-device via the 2.8-inch TFT color screen, keypad, and 16-bit Hi-Fi voice guidance. Engineers can register users across face (3,000 capacity), fingerprint (30,000 capacity, 500 DPI), RFID card (3,000 capacity, 125 kHz standard EM or optional 13.56 MHz Mifare), and password modalities, as well as configure internal shifts, company profiles, and departmental reporting trees directly from the terminal interface.
