Biomax C-24 Multidoor Controller Compatibility and System Integration

The Biomax C-24 (C24) network access control board is engineered for modular integration into multi-door commercial and industrial access infrastructure. Designed to manage 4 independent doors through a centralized super network processor and mass memory architecture, the controller coordinates edge access peripherals, electronic locking hardware, auxiliary building safety inputs, and host management networks without requiring proprietary peripheral hardware.

Reader Protocols and Wiegand Interface Compatibility

The Biomax C-24 features native connectivity for up to 8 card readers, accommodating comprehensive bidirectional read-in and read-out architecture across all 4 managed doors. The reader interface bus supports industry-standard Wiegand formats:

  • Wiegand 26: Standard 26-bit communication format for commercial proximity and contactless smart card readers.
  • Wiegand 34: Extended 34-bit format offering higher credential security and expanded site code ranges.
  • Wiegand 66: High-density 66-bit card identification protocol for specialized access environments.
  • Transmission Range: Supports Wiegand cable distances of up to 80 meters between the peripheral reader heads and the controller board terminals.

Through these standardized Wiegand lines, the C-24 handles an internal database of up to 42,000 registered user cards and retains up to 200,000 offline transaction records in mass memory.

Door Hardware and Peripheral Interfacing

Field device compatibility is provided via dedicated onboard terminal blocks arranged for complete four-portal supervision:

  • Electric Lock Outputs: 4 independent relay output groups switch power directly to electric strikes, electromagnetic locks (maglocks), or drop-bolt locking hardware.
  • Exit Request Devices: 4 dedicated exit button input groups interface with push-to-exit buttons, touch sensors, and request-to-exit (REX) hardware.
  • Door Status Monitoring: 4 door sensor interface groups accept standard magnetic door contacts to provide real-time door status monitoring and forced-door alerts.

Fire Alarm and Auxiliary Safety System Extension

To integrate physical access control with automated life-safety and industrial facility monitoring, the C-24 board includes an integrated alarm extension module featuring 4 auxiliary inputs and 4 auxiliary outputs. This interface provides native compatibility for direct signaling with:

  • Fire Alarm Systems: Enables automatic emergency door release upon fire alarm trigger.
  • Probe Alarms: Interfacing for perimeter and detection probes.
  • Burglar Alarm Panels: Supports integration with central intrusion detection systems.
  • Gas Alarm Systems: Interfaces with hazardous atmosphere and industrial gas detection sensors.

Host Network and Electrical Specifications

Communication with central management software is facilitated by an onboard TCP/IP network interface operating over standard local area network (LAN) topologies with segment lengths up to 100 meters. The board operates within a direct current working voltage of DC 9V to 14V, drawing an operational current of less than 300 mA. The compact board footprint measures 212 mm in length, 130 mm in width, and 20 mm in height, and functions across an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C with non-condensing relative humidity ratings between 10% and 90% RH.
