FAQ

What key installation and backup features distinguish the Ahuja APA-240?

Answer:
The APA-240 features balanced XLR line inputs, a 100V line input for long-distance feeds, an emergency priority override on one 1V input, and a rear-panel ground lift switch. It supports dual power operation with instant DC switchover to 24V battery supply (2 x 12V Car Battery (they are not included)) during AC mains failure.

The Ahuja APA-240 incorporates dedicated installation and control features engineered for complex multi-equipment sound systems:

  • Long-Line 100V Input: Enables direct connection to an existing 100V distribution line from a master amplifier, allowing the APA-240 to function as a remote booster over long cable runs.
  • Priority Input: One 1V balanced line input features priority override over all other active inputs for emergency announcements and paging.
  • Ground Lift Switch: Located on the rear panel to isolate multi-chassis ground loops and eliminate 50 Hz mains hum.
  • Dual Power Supply & Instant Transfer: Operates on 220–240V AC (50/60 Hz) and supports instant automatic transfer to a 24V DC backup source powered by two 12V batteries (they are not included).
  • Circuit Protection: Built-in resettable circuit breaker protects against output short circuits and thermal overload.
