FAQ

Which substrates and chemical environments is 3M 764 Green Vinyl Tape compatible with?

Answer:
It adheres to clean, dry surfaces including steel, concrete, painted metal, and smooth equipment when applied between 16°C and 27°C (60°F to 80°F). It resists common industrial solvents, but contact with ketones, esters, and chlorinated hydrocarbons must be avoided.

3M 764 Green Vinyl Tape is designed for application onto smooth, clean, and dry substrates across plant environments:

  • Substrate Compatibility: Achieves reliable 18 oz./in. width peel adhesion on steel, painted metal panels, tool surfaces, and smooth warehouse floor sections.
  • Application Temperature: For optimal bond performance, apply at surface temperatures between 60°F and 80°F (16°C and 27°C).
  • Solvent Resistance: Demonstrates general resistance to common washdown solvents and moisture encountered in light industrial settings.
  • Chemical Incompatibilities: Avoid exposure to ketones, esters, and chlorinated hydrocarbons commonly present in thinners, degreasers, lacquers, and paint strippers, as these compounds will cause the PVC backing to swell and curl.
