Installation & Integration Guidelines

Mechanical Mounting & Structural Placement

The KTI 200 MM Dia Traffic Light (Reference: KTI16022003TS20G) is engineered for rapid deployment across industrial checkpoints, toll plazas, weighbridges, and municipal intersections. The signal assembly supports universal pole mounting on standard traffic posts as well as flat surface mounting on access pedestals, walls, and gantry frames. Position the unit to maximize the 30-degree optical visibility cone, ensuring direct line-of-sight for approaching drivers.

Constructed with an unbreakable UV-stabilized polycarbonate housing and a transparent optical-grade polycarbonate lens, the unit should be secured firmly using compatible mechanical hardware suited to the chosen pole or surface substrate. Ensure the assembly is mounted plumb to maintain the calibrated horizontal beam profile and achieve the minimum 200 cd luminous output along target vehicular approaches.

Electrical Termination & Wiring Configuration

Field wiring connects directly to the integrated terminal block located on the internal high-grade glass epoxy printed circuit board (PCB). The electrical architecture supports multi-voltage operational compatibility, functioning on 230V AC (50 Hz) grid mains, 12V DC, or 24V DC systems.

  • Cable Specification: Use standard 3-core industrial cabling suited to the operating voltage and field environment.
  • Terminal Block Wiring: Strip the cable outer jacket neatly, pass through the sealed housing entry, and terminate the conductors securely into the designated screw-down terminal positions on the glass epoxy PCB.
  • Power Supply Verification: Confirm that the supplied voltage (230V AC 50 Hz, 12V DC, or 24V DC) matches the connected control output before energizing the superbright traffic-grade LED array.

System Integration & Automation Interfacing

The KTI16022003TS20G interfaces seamlessly with standard traffic automation controllers, access control hardware, automated boom barriers, and network traffic management systems. Connect control lines from barrier limit switches, PLC relay outputs, or access control modules to the terminal block to coordinate signaling states with gate arm positioning or weighbridge validation cycles.

Due to the solid-state design of the superbright LEDs (rated for up to 50,000 operational hours), the signal head handles high-frequency switching cycles without contact degradation or filament failure common in legacy incandescent fixtures.

Ingress Sealing & Commissioning

To uphold the IP65 certified weather-proof rating (dust-tight and resistant to pressurized water jets), verify the following during final commissioning:

  • Verify all cable gland and cable entry fittings are torqued securely to maintain environmental sealing.
  • Ensure the transparent polycarbonate front lens and housing seals are fully seated and latched without pinching.
  • Energize the unit to confirm instantaneous LED illumination and optical clarity across the full 200 mm aspect diameter.
